Five MinSU programs subjected to AACCUP accreditation, attain high standards

To uphold its commitment to quality education and continuous improvement, Mindoro State University (MinSU) undertook program accreditation in collaboration with the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. From November 11 to 15, 2024, five programs across various campuses were subjected to rigorous online evaluations to assess their standards and identify areas for improvement.

The programs that underwent the 2nd Survey Visit were the Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry, Bachelor of Science in Horticulture, and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at Main Campus. Meanwhile, the Master in Business Administration program was evaluated for its 2nd Survey Revisit specifically for Area VI, which focuses on Extension and Community Involvement. Additionally, the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship program at the Bongabong Campus experienced its 1st Survey Visit, marking a significant milestone in its journey toward quality assurance.

The accreditation process, facilitated through virtual platforms, involved a comprehensive review of the programs' documentation, faculty qualifications, curriculum, student support services, and community engagement initiatives. The AACCUP accreditors meticulously examined each area, ensuring that the programs meet national standards of excellence and relevance.

Through the collaborative efforts of the local accreditation task force and the unwavering support of the university administration, the programs successfully attained their targeted accreditation statuses.

As a result of these concerted efforts, the programs attained their targeted accreditation statuses: the BS Agroforestry, BS Horticulture, and BS Environmental Science programs achieved Level II Re-accredited Status, demonstrating their continued adherence to high academic and institutional standards. Similarly, the MBA program maintained its standing through a successful Survey Revisit.

Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship program at the Bongabong Campus earned Level I Accreditation Status, marking a significant achievement. This newly-accredited program progressed from Candidate Status and, after two years, became eligible for Level I Accreditation.

University President Dr. Enya Marie D. Apostol commended the collective efforts of faculty members, administrative staff, and students who contributed to the successful accreditation processes.

Looking ahead, MinSU remains steadfast in its mission to enhance its academic programs, ensuring that they remain responsive to the evolving educational landscape and industry demands.
