MinSU launches Daluyang Dunong: A Multidisciplinary Research Journal

Mindoro State University (MinSU) has officially launched the Daluyang Dunong: Multidisciplinary Research Journal (DDMRJ), an open-access online platform dedicated to the publication and dissemination of scholarly works, further strengthening the University’s research and development initiatives.

The Daluyang Dunong continues the legacy of the former MinSCAT Research Journal, now rebranded to align with MinSU’s institutional identity. According to Ms. Charmaine Samala-Guno, Managing Editor of DDMRJ, the journal aims to provide greater visibility to research that highlights Mindoro’s rich biodiversity, cultural heritage, and other locally grounded studies.

Anchored on MinSU’s MAHALTANA Research Agenda, the journal covers a wide range of disciplines including:

• Mangyan and Multidisciplinary Indigenous Studies
• Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Agri-Innovation
• Halcon and Highlands Biodiversity Conservation
• AI, Automation, and Advanced Technologies
• Livelihood, Local Economy, and Sustainable Enterprises
• Tamaraw and Terrestrial Wildlife Protection
• Arts, Education, Humanities, and Anthropological Studies
• Naujan Lake and National Resources Management
• Advancement in Health, Human Security, and Holistic Well-Being

One of the challenges faced by researchers, Guno noted, is the difficulty of finding reputable, cost-free platforms to publish their work.

“Through Daluyang Dunong, our researchers no longer need to spend large sums just to have their studies published. The process is legitimate, peer-reviewed under a double-blind system, and all expenses are shouldered by MinSU,” she explained.

The journal is open not only to MinSU faculty but also to contributors from other universities and partner institutions. Inquiries from neighboring schools have already been received, underscoring the journal’s potential to foster inter-institutional collaboration.

To further expand research opportunities, MinSU is also preparing to launch college-based journals for students.

“This initiative allows students to have a publication under their name even before graduation,” Guno added.

Looking ahead, MinSU envisions Daluyang Dunong as one of the leading research journals in the region, serving as a credible avenue for scholarly discourse and community development.

Together, let us allow wisdom to flow - freely, widely, and purposefully.”
