A team of four engineering students from Mindoro State University emerged as champions at the 12th National Collegiate Research Congress held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila last February 18-20, 2026.
The team, composed of John Mark Reyes, Maria Santos, Carlos Mendoza, and Ana Villanueva, presented their research on "IoT-Based Water Quality Monitoring System for Inland Fisheries in Oriental Mindoro." Their innovative project combines Internet of Things technology with environmental science to help local fisheries monitor water quality in real-time.
The research was conducted under the mentorship of Engr. Roberto Cruz of the College of Engineering. This is the third consecutive year that MinSU has placed in the national competition, demonstrating the university's growing strength in research and innovation.
